Got my NEW S52 starter today from my friend Joe. Not bad for $40 SHIPPED! Thanks Joe!
Tomorrow we measure out the bores and see how they're looking. I should also finally get a chance to pick up the 328 driveshaft tomorrow and a set of Koni SA rear shocks should be here as well, thanks to my friend IronFreak!!!!
WOOT!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

And thanks to Samir Taheri for pointing me towards the Markert Motorworks site for the OBD2-to-OBD1 Coolant temp sensor for $50. That'll save me having to drill & tap the MM-modded S52 head. Woot!!Last edited by kingston; 05-12-2016, 06:15 PM.Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Just paid for the Recaro LS seats that were going to go in Siobhan, that will now go in the new DD.
They sure are pretty!
Also decided to bite the bullet and redo the bottom end on the S52. She'll get a fresh hone, new piston rings (oversize), rod bearings, main bearings, rod bolts & main bolt caps. Gonna hot tank the block, too. May as well have it as clean as possible!
Turned out it was a good thing we tore it down. There was some strange stuff hidden by the pistons. It looks like the motor wasn't stored very well, and there was some slight corrosion on the cylinders, but there's still plenty of meat left, so there's no need for a bore, thankfully!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

I think you should go 15x8" for sure, it'd be worth it.
Have you found another E30 yet?Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

As for another E30, not in the market yet, need a full time job first, not a temp one.Reminiscing...

Ah, gotcha.
My problem is the same one I always had. To wit, too many projects, not enough time or money! The good news, though, is that I'm picking up a new DD in Mid-April, and that will free me up to do more on Siobhan, since I'll have another solid car to drive. At that point, things should get rolling much more quickly!!
I'm still on the fence about what to do with the centers on the CSIs. They'll be going on a Burgundrot car. Levent thinks I should do gold centers. I'm not sure. May just spray clear on them as they are. I do like the look with the contrast between polished lips & the raw metal of the centers...Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Well, mostly snowed in AGAIN today, but I do now have my 328i driveshaft
This is one of the few parts I was waiting on, until I decided to redo the whole bottom end. I do still need a 3.25LSD, too...
I also realized that I never put any pics up from my track day in Siobhan last year. I know I'e got some on-track ones somewhere, but here's a pic of Showy in the paddock.
What a good time!!!!
